Spain or Portugal

We have a timeshare opportunity , either in Spain or Portugal in September. We are leaning toward Portugal but airfares seems a lot lower to Spain, so far anyway.
Help me make up my mind.

Avalon, it depends on where in Portugal or in Spain you can have the timeshare opportunity. Tell us what your options and when you are planing to travel so that we can help you.

Sorry, should have thought of that.

In Portugal it would be near Portimao in the Algarve, Spain at A Coruna. It would be in mid-sept.

Coruna is in the North of Spain and though it's a nice province , if you are interested in beaches, they have cold water and aren't the best beaches in Spain. One lovely town in Coruna is Santiago de Compostela, where many people go as peregrins.

Portimao is in the Algarve, the southern coast of Portugal. Beaches have warmer wter than in the North of Spain and I don't know if your timeshare will be in Praia da Rocha, it's a very touristic area, but as you are renting a car you can easily go to other places with beautiful and calm beaches . Anywhere you go you will certainly have good weather and both places won't be full of tourists. It's a good time of the year to travel to Potugal and Spain.

I can't give much help on the Coruna besides what I told you but if you need more information on the Algarve, feel free to ask.

No question--the Algarve location is your best bet. Hit Evora on your way south and day trip to the Lagos area and then to Sagres and the " end of the world" cliffs. Get a private boat hire in Lagos to see the coast. Good luck !
