hello. my sisters and i are going to italy in a few months and would like to visit spain for a few days. we are women between the ages of 23-31 and are interested mostly in nightlife. would you suggest going to madrid or barcelona? is one city safer in the evening than the other for women? thanks in advance

Both Madrid and Barcelona offer great nightlife.
Both are very safe for women at night.

I would probably decide what I would like to do with my days and then decide.

Having been to both cities, I would say both are good for women and nightlife. I prefer Madrid especially for nightlife and it is a little less "tourist weary". The clubs and bars are right in the centre-you can't miss them. Have fun

They both have great nightlife, as the others have said. I'll just add that Barcelona is closer to Italy, so since you only have 3 days, maybe that should factor into your choice?

You will have to clarify what time of the year you are going.
If it summer then Barcelona otherwise any of the two.
Both are safe and have a very active nightlife.
