Spain & .....?
Looking at a 9-10 day trip to Spain this year. Wan to go to Barcelone, Madrid, Seville, Granada and Lisbon. Is this possible? What's the cheapest means of transportation? These cities have been selected based on my research from the web. Sounds appropriate? How many days is ideal for the cities above. Also, we're into monuments, historic sites, catch the city sites, only the major museums and definitely relaxing country side, and scenic drives and beauty.
- Is the above possible?
- If not what is the number of days appropriate?
- What would be the perfect itinerary to cover it?
- Anything not worth in the above?
Looking for opinions !! thanks all...

This would be way too ambitious for my tastes - 5 cities in 9-10 days - this sounds exhausting. Which means at most 2 days in each city on average, and this would have to include transportation time in between them! You'll be spending as much time getting to each city as "seeing" them. Are you well aware of the distances involved?
Possible to do - yes, if you do not plan on visiting/seeing much and don't mind spending your vacation time on trains/buses/cars/planes. For a holiday, you should relax and take it easier (if it were me, anyways), and give yourself more of a chance to discover and "feel" Spain.
You might want to take a look at travel reports on this board (and others) so that you can zoom in on what sounds more interesting to you. Then come back for more specific suggestions/questions.

The trip you're planning is more like 18 or 20 days - if you don;t want to spend the bulk of your time in train stations - or if you're driving and want to see some of the countryside. You definitely need to either add days or cut back cities.
Youmight want to bag Portugal for a first step. And in 10 days I would do either Madrid and North or Madrid and South - you really don;t have time to do both. (We have done 2 trips to Andalusia - one 10 days and one 12 and still have a lot more to see.)

I am planning a 2 week trip to Spain in September 2010. I have previously been to Madrid, Cuenca, Valencia, and Barcelona. I am in my 20’s and will be traveling solo. I will also be traveling by either bus or train.
I am wondering what others think of this itinerary? I will be flying in and out of Madrid. I am not sure if it is a good idea to add Caceres and Salamanca? I am very open to changing the itinerary...
Alicante (2 nights)
Granada (2 nights)
Malaga (2 nights)
Cordoba (2 nights)
Seville (4-5 nights) Day trips to Cadiz and Jerez de la Frontera if time allows
Caceres (2 nights)
Salamanca (2 nights)
Thanks!!

I agree - this is at least a 17 day trip even with my personal minimums for the cities you mention:
Madrid: 4 days (daytrips to Toledo & Segovia)
Barcelona: 4 days (no daytrips)
Sevilla: 4 days (daytrip to Cordoba)
Granada: 2 days
Lisbon: 3 days
This doesn't account for the first jetlagged day or the final night when you may need to travel to your outbound airport city.
I understand your enthusiasm (looking back some of my early trips to Spain were way too rushed trying to see too much) but I'd group your interest by geography (Madrid, Barcelona, Lisbon, Andalucia) and focus at most 2 areas.
