Money limitations?
Interests?
Time?
Why did you choose Spain?

I suggest you get a guide book or go to the box at the top of page that reads "View By Country" and click on Spain. There is a wealth of information and then you can ask more focused questions.

If you are interested in art/ museums then you should include Madrid in your itinerary. Madrid is home to the Prado museum which IMO is one of the best museums in the world. Then you also have Reina Sofia museum for Modern art , and the Thysen-Bornemiza.

Regarding month of the year I would say May or June would be my preferred time.

Agree with PP poster about art in Madrid .
I don't care for very warm weather so early May or late Sept. would be my choice

I too agree that the best art museums are in Madrid. The best art in Barcelona is in the streets, the architecture and the sense of design.

In Barcelona the Picasso museum concentrates on his work as a young man and the Miro museum is for lovers of Miro.
