We just left Sanlucar on Friday after 5 nights. Absolutely loved it. Beautiful beach, long promenade, Not a tourist town at all, and the locals were very friendly. Chipiona is a short 25 min drive and has a great beach, famous lighthouse and a small castle. Lots of restaurants and shops. El Puerto de Santa Maria is also a short drive. Another great beach and a port area to take the 30 min passenger boat over to Cadiz. Of course there’s plenty of sherry bodegas. The daily fish/produce market in Sanlucar is a must, and there are all kinds of fresh local products for sale. It’s a very busy place and fun to just take in the atmosphere. We plan on returning next September for at least 10 days. Not sure of the weather in February but late September it was high 70’s low 80s with very warm ocean water. Our landlord advised that swimming in the bay is ongoing into November.

Yes Maribel,
and now in Zahara de los Atunes. Perfect weather, miles of isolated beaches, crowds are gone until the 4 day famous Retinto Festival on Oct 9th when Spaniards from the entire country come to eat drink and be merry to all hours of the night and enjoy one of the best sunsets in all of Europe. Only challenge is being brave enough to walk by the numerous enormous bulls on the beach😉
