Sofitel, Heathrow

A query re: Sofitel Hotel
we are two seniors(very slow walking)
We will land in Terminal 5 on a B/a flight
Owing to claustrophobia, cannot uselift from terminal to Hotel reception. So would need escalator/stairs
i have read variable accounts of how far we would need to walk, also would not using the lift, is the walk somewhat longer
thank you also much

Hi Maggiemay, welcome to Fodor's! For this very specific question I would probably reach out to the hotel - they will give you the best and most accurate answer. But perhaps someone here has an experience that will be useful to you, I don't want to preclude anyone jumping in with helpful information. Good luck!!

Welcome to Fodors. I'd also phone the hotel (I personally have only used the lifts to get to/from the Sofitel) -- But my guess is if you register and post your specific question on FlyerTalk (run by the same company as Fodors but you need a different log on/password) you'l have a definitive answer within a few minutes. That site is VERY active and they know absolutely everything you could possibly ask about Heathrow and the Sofitel.

I stayed at the Sofitel in November and you go up one floor in the lift and then there is a very long hallway to reception, with escalators down to that level.
I'm not sure how you would do it without using the lift, email or call the hotel or you can do a Google search and see if someone has posted a youtube video review or a written description of an alternative.
