mariam, nobody is calling you anything bad. And I was TRYING to be funny with you asking you if your boyfriend's brother was available! I hope you have a wonderful time in Venice and I am sure you will look lovely no matter what you choose to wear.

Oh I'm sorry. I was reacting to the snide posts that I received yesterday.
You have to admit that being called a kingdom insinuates queens if you don't know the difference. Don't hold it against me.

Although I will be there with many gay men as far as I know only my friend and I will be straight.

see the difference is I don't consider fag hag an insult, rather a term of endearment.

I keep smiling about the caftans.
The gentlemen will be wearing Nehru jackets?

I take fag hag as negative besides the fact that I don't want to be a hag of any type. I don't like the word fag but to each his own.

The men men will be free to wear caftans as well. The fact is my gentleman friend had the idea of a caftan, he bought me a few of them.

If your boyfriend bought you the caftan, I'm not sure why the heck you're checking with us (a bunch of strangers, mostly female) about it.

Have you ever spent time with a group of gay men before? Do you have any gay friends? My thought is you may have a steep learning curve here, more important things than what to wear to be "sexy".

I'm still trying to get my arms around the fact that 55 is middle aged. Maybe it's a baby boomer thing, but that would mean your life span is 110 years. Hmm...

He bought them for me but didn't mention wearing them overseas that is why I asked. He wears caftans himself.
No I haven't been around many gay men although I do think my hairdresser may be.

Well, since your boyfriend seems to be so stylish, have you asked him for his advice on what to wear when visiting his brother? I think he will be able to guide you in the right direction.

I wish I could think of a way to be more helpful. I will simply and kindly say, I believe this may be a fairly shocking but eye-opening experience for you.

You think 55 is past middle aged? Old aged?

I asked him and he said ask your girlfriends but they all wear golfing clothes and polo shirts and look very mannish in my opinion.

Why? Don't straight men wear caftans? They are comfortable.

<Don't straight men wear caftans?>

Since your boyfriend does you better hope the answer to this question is yes.
