So overwhelmed!

Here I am again - with two hotels on hold - one in Interlaken (the Beau Site) and one in Luzern (the Cascada). After reading everything I can find, I can't decide! How does one finally decide - does it matter? I am getting the impression that all of Switzerland is great. I guess I should just toss a coin and enjoy? This is our first trip to Switzerland and we'll only be passing through (for 3 days).

Bob, we made our first Switzerland trip last year. Fortunately, we had 12 days to enjoy Luzern, the Berner Oberland and the Italian Lakes. If I only had 3 days passing through, I know what I would do.

I'd stay in Grindelwald. No question about it.

IMO, if you've got both reservations, choose Interlaken, because you can day-trip to Lucerne from there and up to Grindelwald or Wengen or Murren as well. Conversely, if you're staying in Lucerne, it's more trouble to get all the way to Grindelwald or Murren as a daytrip. J.

Thanks for the suggestions so far. I have put in a couple of requests for availability in Grindelwald, but haven't given up my other two hotels yet. Any other suggestions? The hotel in Interlaken is near the railway station west.

Well, we finally made a decision. We made a reservation in Grindelwald at the Hotel Schweizerhof. It sounds wonderful, though a bit expensive, but, hey, it's a vacation!! Thanks for the feedback!
