Smoking pot in Turkey

Sorry if this offends anyone but I'm an inveterate pot smoker (nothing harder) and am going to Turkey in June 99. I'm not thrilled at the prospect of going a fortnight without a smoke and was wondering about price/availability/danger issues. Any information would be appreciated.

I would suggest you watch Midnight Express on video. This should tell you all you need to know.
Kate

A bit more helpful advice than the narrow minded person above: I am not a smoker and didn't try to get any in Turkey. We weren't offered any, and usually in hostel type environments (which we were staying in) you at least come across people smoking. Maybe in a backpacker haven such as Olimpos you might have some luck. And I wouldn't go looking for it - in a country such as Turkey you'd be looking for trouble. If you are that dependent on anything whether it be alcohol, cigarettes, ecstasy, marijuana, or picking your nose that a holiday is dampened by not having any, maybe you should seriously think about getting some help. No, I am not against pot, I just think our minds/bodies should be our own, and that addiction is for the week.
ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND??? If you want to take such a risk, feel free to do so. As a good many others may agree, you have 2 very reasonable choices:
(1) Don't go to Turkey, if you can't go without your dope:
(2) Leave the weed at home
Since I doubt you'll find either of these options viable, I guess we'll all learn if they have internet access in Turkish prisons (don't forget to post on the Forum & tell us about the accommadations there).
Good luck, you'll need it.

There is something faintly sad about posters who will quite readily snipe away at others but refuse to identify themselves.

Kate , I was going to type almost exactly what you did but I could just see a barrage of people eager for me to do it so I didn't.

I agree with [email protected] if you are that dependent, you should seriously think about quitting. Have fun in jail!

I think that if your in somebody else's country you should go by thier rules, just like if somebody is in your own. So, I say some at your own risk, and do not forget "don't to the crime if you can't do the time".

Smoking pot in turkey? Ummmm, I've never heard of that. I have mixed some pot in with some chocolate fudge once, and even in some tuna helper- but never have tried it smoking in turkey. Does it give the turkey a smokie taste too?
