Slow Food Web-site Reccos for Restaurants- Useful?

I recently downloaded a bunch of restaurant listings from the Slow Food website for both the Abruzzo and Umbria. All there is available is the name of the restaurant, no details. Has anybody checked out Slow Food restaurant reccomendations in Italy? Are they useful for finding hidden gems?

Which restaurants are you interested in? I know those areas well. Would be happy to suggest those I liked...

Wendy

Wendy,

I ended up taking your recommendation, and we are staying at the fontebella. Suggestions for a supper in Assisi (a Sunday night) - - or on the way there from Rome (Saturday afternoon/night)?

Many thanks in advance,

Rex
So you have three nights for dinners?

One from Rome, one at the Fontebella and a Sunday night in Assisi?

Well, no, six (or seven? one of them might be in the dining car, aboard the Eurostar, I guess) - - those were just the first three nights:

Day zero - - depart (Thursday)

First night (Friday) will either be St. Regis Grand or "find it" local - - if we're too tired. I am interested in seeing Europe's "newest" _best_ hotel, now that its giga-jillion ITL renovation is complete.

Second night/afternoon (Saturday) eat IN Assisi, or in transit, from Rome to Assisi.

Third night (Sunday) - - IN Assisi - - at the Fontebella, or other recommendation.

Fourth night (Monday) - - in Venice, undecided - - play by ear? Maybe even the dining rooom of the Bonvecchiati itself.

Fifth night (Tuesday) - - in Venice (if we stay a second night, my wife's preference) or on Eurostar (I prefer to get back to Rome - - weather, moods and interests could make/break the decision).

Sixth night (Wednesday) - - could be in Rome (we could take the Eurostar during the day time, or as noted above, we may have taken the train on Tuesday afternoon/evening).

Seventh night (Thursday) - - Rome. No specific plans for now.

Eighth day (Friday) - - fly home.

Feel free to recommend for any or all - - but my question was about Saturday and Sunday.

Thanks,

Rex
Rex,

AAAAAh, sorry! Well yes, the Fontebella for dinner on Sunday... there are so many to choose from entre Roma and Assisi...do you plan on stopping any particular route or have a time in mind? I know a great place in Foligno, but it is outside Assisi....

Venice, I highly recommend Da Fiore unless you have decided on the 'dining room'....

in Rome, Tre Scalini on the Piazza Navona and also the Hotel rooftop Forum ...

Wendy
