slovenia question

OK, so I'm planning a solo trip in the Spring of '04, and I'd like to fly into Vienna and travel through Slovenia and up through the Alps to Munich.

Question: I travel fast, by car, and I'd like to know what the top few destinations would be in Slovenia.

thanks

Robby, Coming from Vienna, I would do these top 3 in this order:
Lake Bled
Ljubjana
Piran[on the coast--see the caves at Postjona[sp] enroute

After Slovenia, drive to Cortina and then thru the Dolomites to the Val Gardena--weather permitting. Have fun !

Bob -- thanks! But as for coming back up through Cortona, isn't that a little far west if I'm driving to Munich? Or is that faster?

robbydee,
Bob's recommendation going thru Cortina on the way to Munich is a great trip. It is about a 6-7hr drive versus a 3-4hr trip going thru Salzburg. It's just a matter of what you want to see and the time you have.
