Sligo vs. Dingle?
Hi,

I'm looking to take my first trip to Ireland, and am considering the Sligo area or the Dingle Peninsula. Any advice? I'll be horseback riding a good portion of the time.

Also, I can travel in May or June. From the guides I've looked at, the weather is not described as being too different. Is this true, or is one month traditionally better to visit in?

Thanks!

May is a great time to visit because it is a bit less crowded. Weather wise you'll need a light jacket at least. Temperatures are genearlly in the 50's and low 60's sometimes. Of course, it can rain anytime.

I have a friend who did 1 week horse back trip in September in the Sligo area and loved it. The Dingle peninsula may get a bit crowded in June, but it is SPECTACULAR,

Bill

Thanks, it doesn't sound like I can go wrong! Tough decision.....

I'm also curious, is there any form of public transportation in either area? I hope to take a few days before or after the tour and explore on my own, but I'm not sure how to do it best.

Thanks again
