Skip Kinsale?

June family trip with teens. Arriving in DUB, first night in Kilkenny, then on to explore the Wild Atlantic Way.
We currently have night 2 booked in Kinsale, followed by 2 nights in Kenmare. While we are in Kenmare thought we would see the Beara Peninsula on the first day and then drive through Molls gap, and visit Muuckross House on our way to Dingle for 3 nights, Doolin for 1, Aran for 2 and Galway for 3 before returning to Dublin for 3.
I'm curious as to opinions of those who have traveled the area; should skip Kinsale in favor to add a night in Kenmare and then have time to travel the ROK.

Do not skip Kinsale, one of our favorite cities in Ireland.

Kinsale

Kinsale is expensive and very touristy. I personally wouldn’t overnight there at all. I’d prefer to use my time elsewhere. Clonakilty would be a better choice , if you want to stay in the general area.
I would add the night to Kenmare if you wanted to see some of the ring of Kerry . The ring is best done going the same way as the tour buses, though . The road from Kenmare to Killarney does take in some of the really good parts of the ring of Kerry so if time was tight you could do that stretch and take in the sights along that route .

IMO the Dingle Peninsula was much better than the ROK (way too many tour buses to get around on ROK)

Kenmare and The Dingle Peninsula were our favorite parts in 3 visits to Ireland.

That said, Kinsale was a lovely town. Quaint streets to walk and Charles Fort had fantastic views. In Western Ireland you can’t go wrong. If it was us we’d take off one of the 3 in Dublin and add it to anywhere in Western Ireland. 2 in Dublin is definitely enough unless you want to drink in the pubs a lot.
