Siena to Sorrento; best option?

What would be the best way to get form Siena to Sorrento.(in middle september)
I was thinking of taking a bus/train to florence, then taking the direct train to naples, then the Circumversia to Sorrento? Or maybe the hydrofoil?
It is my wife and I only, no kids.

Hi j,

Private limo - about 300E.

Otherwise, take the bus to Florence.

actually, I would probably head to Rome (rather than Florence) and then just take the bus to Sorrento...or the train to Naples -and then train or boat to Sorrento

Do not backtrack to Florence. Actually, the best transport to Rome is a bus to the Tiburtina station and then a train to naples. It runs often.

Ira - Are you sure about that limo price? I think it's that or more from Rome and would assume from Siena would cost more.

www.senabus.it might be a possibility. Have you checked the price of a car rental? Will you already have a car in Tuscany? If so, I would drive and turn the car in at Sorrento.

Hi KB,

I meant to write 400.

You are correct, that is still low.

However, it is a lot more than renting a car or taking the bus/train.

HI J,

Also consider taking the train/bus to Naples and a limo to Sorrento - about 95E for the limo.
