Since you are spending 2 nights in Agrigento, maybe you would like this place. It's out of town, but you might enjoy being out of town and having this kind of experience of Sicily

Also might help others if you post the name of the hotel that will take your luggage for a fee (and the amount). You are not the only person I've seen really reluctant to leave luggage in a car when planning a visit to Piazza Amerina

Tuscanlifeedit,
Antiche Pietre in Erice only has four apartments, so book very early. Two ground level and two upstairs. Massimo will help with luggage if you are upstairs and will meet you at the town gate to get you there.
Erice is very quiet at night. I believe most shops will be closed except for a few on the main street.
Make sure you have some very sturdy shoes with good traction. Erice has the most evil cobblestones I have ever found! Definitely an ancient town.
Have fun, you will love Sicily and the Sicilian people.

Yes, that looks like a good plan, Tuscan.
I don't know if the car park at the Villa Casale has a particularly bad reputation for leaving luggage in the car; it's a very open space where anyone taking luggage from one vehicle and putting it in another would be bound to be spotted. Whether anyone would do anything about it of course is another question.

massimop: I will most definitely post the name of hotel in Piazza Armerina, just as soon as I make the request and they accept my reservation.
I read about this on tripadvisor.com and from a traveler that did this. I hesitate to share until I try it myself, but when I do make the reservation, I will quickly share the name and contact information.
Thanks for the Agrigento suggestion. I actually have that one bookmarked.
Dayle, I will make the reservation right away. Thanks.
