Short Break help

Hi

I'm looking to take my wife away for a short break over Easter. Looking for some help with where to go and hotels to stay at. We live in Scotland and are looking to just jump into the car and drive somewhere so probably somewhere North to Central England so it's not too long a drive. Looking for a hotel with a pool and some kind of spa facilities and we love to eat out so somewhere with some excellent restaurants. Totally flexible about area so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks

Martin

Hi Christm,
Why don't you go one step further and get a cheap flight down to Cardiff?

Probably cheaper than the petrol you would spend going to N England. Cardiff is gorgeous in springtime with loads to see.

St Davids Spa Hotel in Cardiff bay is a top hotel 5* ?? and perfectly situated for all you describe.

The rates are quite high but I know people that have had great deals by calling the hotel directly.

Good Luck

Hi

I'd prefer somewhere driveable as it's really for a relaxing break for my wife and she's not the best flyer so would prefer to be able to just jump in the car. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Does it have to be in England?? Cameron House on Loch Lomond seems exactly what you're looking for. http://www.devere.co.uk/deluxe/Camer...e/default.aspx

Or in N. England you could try http://www.devere.co.uk/deluxe/Slaley-Hall/ in Northumberland.

Hi

It doesn't have to be in England - I was just avoiding Cameron House because it's quite local to me and we've been there a few times so was looking for something that would feel like more 'getting away from it all' kind of thing. Also should have said - looking roughly for a budget of £100 per room per night.

Thanks

Martin

A spa, an indoor or heated pool -- for £100 per night - I'd think that is a pretty tall order. But maybe someone can help you.
