No, unless they make an exception because of the World Cup. Usually, the only stores open on Sundays are at RR stations and Frankfurt Airport.

I arrived in downtown Frankfurt about a year ago on a Sunday morning and must have walked two miles looking for ANYTHING open to buy some snacks to keep in the hotel room and some bottled water. I finally gave up and ordered from room service. There wasn't a thing open anywhere.

You find open on sundays:
gasstations - most of them have a nice store where to find something to drink, snacks and more
shops at the main railway station
shops and supermarket at the airport

have fun

I think I'll have a bigger problem than Sunday shopping: I'll arrive in Berlin (by train) on Sunday 30 April, and the next day is May 1st.
I suppose that all supermarkets will be closed in both these days.
We booked an aparment in Berlin, so I would like to buy some things for breakfast and some drinks.

What I have to do?

It's surprising how far into town petrol stations come in Berlin. Their drinks range is often spectacular, and they almost all sell a basic range of groceries: certainly practically everything (often including freshly-baked bread) you could want for breakfast.
