Shopping in San Sebastian

Hello to all,

I will be spending a few days in August in San Sebastian . I am curious if any of you could recommend clothes stores/department stores that they liked?

Thanks a lot for your help !

Marie

Jean Vier has a factory showroom/outlet in Saint Jean de Luz, France. About an hour from San Sebastian. They sell very, very good quality basque fabrics, tablecloths, towels, etc. There is a "seconds" area and you can get some marvelous products and deals. When we are in that area, we always go there.

I suggest you take a look at Maribel's Guide to the País Vasco (www.maribelsguides.com) for a idea of shopping in San Sebastian-Donostia.

The area near La Concha beach has several nice stores, but the premium shopping is a little further up the coast in Biarritz, in the Pays Basque.

marieparis...Sadly they only list telephone numbers at Jean Vier. On the Map it is on Rue de la Republic near the water, not too far from the Tourist Office.

ekscrunchy...specialties here are macaroons, knougas and mouchous! St Cirq will have to tell you what those are but if they are edible I'm IN!

I also shopped at Jean-Vier in May while in St. Jean de Luz. I loved that shop and they sell on line also. Here's their web site, which also lists their addresses.
