Shopping in Florence

Hi - has anyone been to The Mall in Florence? I will be in Florence for a week and besides going to museum and sightseeing I also like to do some serious shopping. How easy is it to get to the Mall from the city center? Thanks, Theresa

Are you talking about the outdoor market that sells many of the local products like leather jackets, etc? If so, it is just a few blocks from the Duomo.

Or do you mean the outlet stores that are outside of Florence? Not that I know how to get there..

The outdoor market is right next to Basilica San Lorenzo (the Medici Chapels are directly behind this church). It is a very short walk from the Duomo (5 minutes). Get on Via Martelli (I think this is the name, I know it starts with "M&quot and head toward Via Cavour... there will be a brown sign pointing you to go left within 3 blocks and you will run right into the market.

rent a car. It is a good 30 minutes outside the city in an industrial area. If you click on my name and search for my trip report it is in there ( towards the end).

they have a website. do a search on google for "the mall" & florence and it will come up.
