Shopping in Athens.
hello.
I will only be in Athens for one day, arriving on a Saturday and departing on a Sunday before heading off for the Greek isles. Could anyone please suggest a centrally located shopping area to buy reasonably priced European-made clothes in Athens? Might you know the average store hours on a Saturday in Athens?
Thanks in advance.
Ross.

right off of syntagma square you start to see tons of shops that are regular stores selling shoes and clothes, not tourist junk. i think they close early on saturdays like 4-5:00 pm.-thats when we arrived a few weeks ago and they were closed. my daughter desperately wanted those lace up shoes and they were closed til monday.

Hi,
There are some nice stores in the Kolonaki Sq. area. I think they are more expensive, but might be worth looking at. I remember some department stores in the Omonia Sq. area (not sure). I would think your hotel could give good information. Have fun.
