shannon airport departure

how long before my departure time should i arrive at shannon for a flight to the states? thank you

same as the U.S. 2 hours prior. at least thats what I do in Dublin

Or a little longer if it's a busy travel day. You pre-clear US immigration and customs at SNN rather than upon arrival in the US, and sometimes those lines can be long.

As Siobhan says two hours will be fine but be sure to factor in the time to return you rental. If there is a crowd this can slow you way down so be sure to take that into consideration. Have fun

Do they do both immigration and customs at Shannon now? My last time there it was only immigration at Shannon, customs in the U.S.

Right - sorry. Passport control at SNN, green line/red line at your destination.

In 10-or-so Shannon departures for US POE's We've never had a problem with being in a check-in 2-hours prior to departure. Usually that allows us about an hour in the departure lounge / Duty Free shops and to submit VAT Refund Claims. We usually fly Continental to EWR but have also used JFK and BWI.

We have never had to wait more than about 10min to clear US Immigration at Shannon.
