Parque de Maria Luisa,Tobacco Factory, horse-drawn carriage to Cathedral, Jewish Quarter, Murillo gardens, and Macarena District

Our tour is covering the sites above in Sevilla, but we have two afternoons and one evening on our own in June. (Monday afternoon and Tuesday from noon on.....) We are staying on San Fernando.

We are not looking for any more museums and churches, but glimpses of daily life . We are wondering if anyone could recommend a fun flamenco and/or any other special, DON"T MISS activities.

Might there be a moderate price point restaurant you truly enjoyed? Do we need reservations?

Are you not doing the cathedral and the Alcazar?? We visited the Casa de Murillo and loved it - but I understand it is now mostly public offices. Ate at a restaurant on the river near the Golden Tower (can't remember the name - sorry - but had a gorgeous outdoor patio filled with what appear to be local glitterati and the food was excellent.

We spend a long early evening doing a lot of window shopping in the center and found it fascinating.

You can also go to one of the best known cloister nuns convent.. Santa Paula and see their art collection from 10-1 everyday except monday and also buy something from them that they make to support themselves. Historically thesis real opportunity to be able to stroll some of their areas.. thanks to the collection.

While many people more civilized than I do not attend bullfights, I would highly recommend a tour of the bull ring during non-fighting hours (virtually all day). It's a marvel.

Intimate Casa de la Memória would also be my suggestion for flamenco. No food, no, drinks, just flamenco. Only top of the shelf artists. Look out for Pastora Galván (Sevilla, 1980), voted best female flamenco dancer 2010 by Spanish critics. Here are two of my absolute favourite no fuss restaurants in town. Affordable, great atmosphere and as Sevilla as it gets. Both are also fine for some tapas.

No better way to get the local feel in Spain than to visit the fabulous food markets. Also a very good ide to have some tapas in the food markets, the absolute freshest and finest produce. Here are two of the best in Sevilla:

I would make reservations if you want a sit down dinner. If you are content to stand, or try for a counter seat, and dine on tapas, you should just plan to be there fairly close to opening time at the more popular places if you want to avoid crowds.

We were ready for something other for dinner tonight than Spanish food...we have been here now for about 9 days... so we tired an Italian place by our apartment. It was excellent!
Osteria L'Oca Giuliva - we had two pitchers of Sangria, two main dishes (one was a special lobster dish) and desert and a tea - the total was 53 Euros. I recommend it if you are ready for something other than traditional food. Great area, cute cute place and great service.
