Seeking information on a seaside town in Spain, with character
As I indicated in another posting, I am seeking information on a seaside location with character (similar to Levanto-Cinque Terra or Amafi town) in, preferably, the Costa Brava area for a 3-4 day stay after a week in Provence and before a 3 day stay in Barcelona.
Unfortunately all I can really find are "ok" seaside towns with "ok" hotels or B&B's or charming inland locales with charming hotels - but no match for charming seaside towns with charming hotels or B&B's.
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks.

This is far from the Costa Brava, but I remember Maribel mentioning thar Cudillero in Asturias reminded her of Cinque Terre. It's on my short list to go next time I'm in the area. I like Santander as well but it doesn't remind me of CT or Amalfi.

We spend a lot of time in the Basque country as well as Asturias and Cantabria, and there are a number of excellent seaside villages/towns worth visiting, but if you are going to be in or around Barcelona, then you should consider the village of Begur. I found it very interesting and worth a few days.

I love the Cantabrian coast - however if you travel from Provence to Barcelona, it is too far away.
"Costa Brava" means "wild coast" and, indeed, it has some spectacular sections of coastline.
Cap de Creus is a vast "geological delirium", as Salvador Dali has named it, spectacularly scenic, in an austere, barren way, however no beaches. Cadaques is the place to stay near Cap de Creus, IMO the most beautiful of the white towns in Spain with lots of sights (the Dali house in Port Lligat), cozy restaurants, a romantic harbour, pebble beaches and several 3-star hotels.

Another beautiful section of the Costa Brava is around Cap de Begur, with tiny sandy beaches in small, narrow bays formed by the cliffs.

Further south, Tossa de Mar has everything: A wide sandy beach, a castle spectacularly set on a rock in the waves and dramatic coastline to the north.

I meant to say this, too:
What about Begur and the hotel Aiguaclara?
http://www.aiguaclara.com/homeeng.htm
Or any of the tiny towns near there....look here:

I think the gem of the Costa Brava is Calella de Palafrugell;

Thanks everyone for your opinions and help.
Steve(or anyone else), do you know anything about Casa Dos Torres?
It has good tripadviser reviews and looks like a B&B that is close to what I am seeking.
Thanks.

Go to www.maribelsguides.com, then click on Charming Towns & Villages. They are listed by region, including Catalunya,NE Spain which has a list for this area north of Barcelona.
