Hi again,
Have you actually used the Swiss rail site to see what the day from Venice - Brig - glacier - Brig - Luzern would be like? Here is what it would look like:
Depart Venice 07.50, arrive Brig 13.16
Depart Brig 13.48, arrive Bettmeralp 14.30
14.30 - 16.30 hike (only hike out 1h and return 1h)
16.55 Depart Bettmeralp, arrive Luzern 20.00
Note that it will be dusk around 16.30.
So, that is about 9 or 10 hours of travelling just to enjoy 2h of hiking or looking at the scenery. That truly seems lop-sided to me, especially considering there is a glacier on Titlis you could see instead.

The normal travel time between Venice & Luzern is 7h30 to 8h. You could leave Venice at 08.50 and be in Luzern at 16.20. If it were me, I would get the transport over with and spend time in the destination. Feeding the swans at the lake at dusk can be magical. Enjoy a nice dinner, then be ready for the Titlis glacier the next day.
Have fun!

Thanks Swandav and Bvlenci.. Helpful as always. So the day 1 plan needs some rethinking.
I did check the sbb site. What I was planning is hike/trek till 4 and then spend some time at the thermal bath at Brig and reach Lucerne by 10pm. And if the weather ain't great, spend some time at the lake and gom's bridge and go to the bath at Brig. Was keen on an unplanned relaxed last day at Lucerne, hence was not looking at reaching Lucerne early on day 1 and relaxing. May be the plan needs some tinkering, any inputs for that.? Depending on this, I guess I have to pick between a 3 day Travel pass vs a 2 day Tell Pass.

I don't have any further thoughts. I wouldn't stop along the way, but it's your decision.
If you stop over at Brig, make sure that wherever you plan to leave your bags will still be open at your departure time, and be sure to inform your hotel that you'll be arriving so late.
