If I needed a laxative, I'd call Beth. She gave us a detailed inventory of the contents of her medicine chest last week just after giving us a play by play description about how her computer crashed, her resume was erased, and her monkey had to rewrite the whole damn thing. (just kidding, beth - something tells me you'll laugh this off more easily than some of your cheerleaders

and when my monkey rewrote it, he completely messed it up. wrong dates of hire, and I have never been the head of any international telecom group. the monkey has been disciplined. say no more, say no more, wink wink, nudge nudge.

nothing NEW new to report, (unless you wanna hear that I am still in my jammies and my hair is sticking straight up, darn bed head)

let me think, tip o' the day.

did I tell you another good thing to do, is do a generic search on, "association" and whatever field you are in, or looking to go? I did one, and it literally came back with 1000 or more associations, all over the place. many times people there will know EVERYONE involved in your field, in your city.

it also is a good idea to plug into networking groups in your old hometown.

anyway, good morning all!

Beth

Me again.

had lunch today with a fellow attorney who is trying to do the same thing, and passed on many of my notes.

I thought I would pass on some kudos - our Shanghai Expat, Andrea, has been commissioned to serve on the 2002 Board of Governors for AmCham Shanghai!! that is awesome! I don't want to be presumptuous and post her email/info her, but, she's been a super help - she's given me many tips to follow. The AmCham was one of them and let me tell you, they really have a ton of information...

anyway, back from lunch and back to the grindstone...
<BR

Beth

Beth, how did you steal my dream??? I'm sure many of us on this board have the same dream of of living and working in london.
I just went to Edinburgh in September and stayed at a great guest house--Castle View Guest House. I'd highly recommend it, but you probably have your lodging taken care of already. Edinburgh is gorgeous--a city to savor. Make sure to walk up to Calton Hill, and be prepared for a beautiful view of the city, especially Holyrood Palace and Arthur's seat.
Have a wonderful time. I've been jobhunting, myself, here in Chicago. If you have to be looking for a job, at least you get to do it in Europe! Good luck! Keep a great diary!
