Hi KL, that is the apartment, sorry about link not working. It is up two flights of steps, no lift, just in case that could be an issue for you.
We thought it had great character and such fun to stay in a place from the 16th century. The young lady who owns it works very hard to make sure everything is just fine. You are bang where the action is but apart from the garbage pick up (only once) it is quiet enough. I am a very light sleeper and I was fine.
Are you thinking of staying there?
I am in Seoul airport at the moment with 6 hours to kill for my connection.

7th July Sunday
Didn't wake till 8.45 which was good, slept well, comfy bed. Had breakfast and saw the news about the Asiana crash which of course put the wind right up me. Packed my suitcase a bit better and then headed off to the Lenoir markets just over the road which were fantastic for food. All the locals out in force buying up big. Looked for other bits and pieces but all tat really. Back to the hotel to officially check out and found I hadn't actually paid up front for the room. I didn't want to use up the travel money card as that would have left me no more cash and I wanted to take some back with me so split it 50/50 with Amex.
I then did a bit of a walk using those Paris walking cards but Cours Damoye was closed until 1.00,I wandered around but everything pretty much closed and boring to be honest. I only had about three hours left so I made up my mind to head down to the Rodin Musee where there was a marble exhibition currently showing. I had forgotten about the free first Sunday on the month thing so that was a bonus $ wise but of course the world and his wife were there as well. I just loved the marble sculptures, the way the stone glistened with crystals in certain lights.... Pretty. A slow circuit around the garden and a rest on a bench, having made the couple already sitting there shove up to make room for me.... I don't think they were best pleased but too bad.
I hadn't checked to see if Le Florimond was open Sunday lunch but walked there just in case.... it wasn't. I found a cafe/bistro very close to the metro La Tour Maubourg called La Source and plonked myself down for a last lunch. The Italienne salad was actually one of the best I had eaten, at last.... Green beans included. You see all these great vegetables at the markets but I found the restaurants very reluctant to include many, if any vegetables. Lazy? Don't know but I think they could do much better in the vege department tbh.
Time was ticking away and I needed to get back, change and walk to the Air France bus stop. I of course walked right up to the station front as the chap at the front desk had told me it was there, but as we know it is on the main road just in front of the station. Pleased to see a couple others waiting and a grimy looking fellow asked me which terminal I wanted, at first I thought he was just asking for "something" so said no thanks, then clocked the Air France tatty cap and jacket, oops. Er, terminal one please.. He was the baggage loading man. However, just as the bus pulled up a couple of gypsy ladies complete with baby in arms turned up, didn't ask for anything but were just casually asking about the bus etc, don't know what their MO was but I kept a wide berth. They seemed to hand the baggage man a yellow piece of paper as the bus was pulling away and I of course had great conspiracy theories going in my mind. Fortunately my suitcase was still there when I arrived at terminal one which is the last stop.
Checked in and straight through within 5 mins, not a word mentioned about the crash... No, "we'll try harder today, promise.... " Mind you the flight was practically empty, hmmm wonder why?
First part of the flight completed, sitting in the lounge filling in my six hour layover. Had a shower and washed the hair and almost look half decent.
Let's hope the next take off and landing are as successful!

I am not sure where we are going next, Schnauzer. No problems with steps. It is hubby's turn to choose the next trip to Europe. We both love France, Germany, and Austria. Hubby and I have two schnauzers! Love your report and taking notes!!

I just scrolled to the top of your thread and realized that you had flown Asiana. No wonder that gave you pause. Hard to think about lightning not striking twice and all after that.
One time we flew out of Manilla and they had trouble getting all the fuel in... an hour later they are bringing in guys from another airline to try to get it to work and finally they decide to off-load cargo so they can make the trip to LAX with the gas they had. On approach they missed it and had to go around again. We all were wondering if they had figured that into their calculations! I now feel lucky that they were high enough to actually be able to go around again.
Beautiful trip and accompanying report, Schnauzer. I do love virtual traveling with you! Where to next?

schnauzer, thank you for the absolutely delightful report. I just love your writing, so descriptive and real. I could envision so much based on all of the wonderful details. This has been a real treat.
