Saturday Train Service Zeebrugge
My husband and I are on a cruise that stops in Zeebrugge May 14th, a Saturday. We would like to take the train to Brugge but I've been reading on some of the message boards that the trains from Zeebrugge to Brugge do not run on the weekends. Does anyone know if this is true? Is there alternate public transportation available? (I'm thinking a taxi might be kind of pricey!) Thanks for any information.

According to the GermanRail site they are running. Check here:

Thanks Intrepid1. I actually had checked that site already and it looked to me as well that they have Saturday service. I'm a little nervous though, on the cruise message board they continue to talk about no weekend service. Anyone else know anything about this? Thanks.

There are TWO stations in Zeebrugge: Zeebrugge Dorp (Village) and Zeebrugge Strand (Beach). I don't know where the cruise terminal is, but according to the Belgian Railways site there are only trains going from Zeebrugge Strand directly to Brugge in 16 mins., respectively at 07.36 am, 09.36 am, 11.36 am, 13.36 pm, 15.36 pm, etc. No trains from Zeebrugge Dorp!
As the trains from/to Zeebrugge Dorp don't run so frequently, your best bet might be to take a taxi to Blankenberge (less than 10 min.). From there you can take a direct train to Brugge (only 11 mins.) every hour+10 (9.10 am, 10.10 am, etc.).

Thanks for the info Myriam. You confirmed my thoughts about taking a taxi to Blankenberge, however I wasn't sure about the distance. I'd read on other posts this was a better alternative so I thank you for including the taxi time to get there. I haven't been online for a few days so I missed your reply until now. Thanks again.
