Thanks to both of you. The Bon Marche will be my last stop as we come home the next morning. I was thinking of picking up a few items in the food hall and maybe some costume jewelry. Is there anything you particularly like to shop for there? Would it be good for French made shoes?

Martha: To your quesiton about shoes: That's exactly what I go there for. Because they have a great range of shoes (rather Italian though but French). They have Stéphane Kélian however and J.M. Weston (spelling?)I don't know whether French do so great (and comfortable shoes). <BR>Opposite to La Grande Epicerie (food halls), in Rue Saint Placide left side Nr. 5 or 7 is a shop called "Rudy's" and some other shops further down. You might go through Rue St. Placide and have a quick look. Some of the shop have nice Italian style mocassins or Chanel style slippers (bi-color).

I just like them in general, I may pick up a little sweater or something on sale, but I especially like their accessories dept -- belts, purses, tote bags, etc. (a lot of those seem to be Italian also, at least the ones that catch my eye). I also like their makeup dept; I suppose all dept stores have about the same brands and the prices are pretty fixed in Paris, but I like theirs for some reason.
