We may have possibly found an apartment on craigslist.
It is at 24 rue Saint Séverin.
Is anyone familiar with the building?

thanks

Rue St-Severin is a very lively street, carnival like, in the Latin Quarter. The apartment lies between Rue St-Jacques and Blvd. St-Michel, not far from the St-Michel metro stop. The street is quite close to the river, a couple blocks south of Quai St-Michel.

There is a curiosity next door, #22, a residence reputed to be the narrowest building in Paris. It is a sliver. The street is filled with shops and restaurants catering to students and budget-minded tourists. Our children spent too many hours on the rue buying trinkets and t-shirts.

Enjoy your trip.

There is no "food pavillion" anywhere in Paris (I mean absolutely nothing that goes by such a name). However, there is no lack of places to view and/or purchase excellent food.

The Montorgueil market street is the best such place near Les Halles.

there is such an overwhelming amount of info to sift through

can someone point me a website where we can buy tickets that would include d'Orsay, Rodin Sculpture Garden, and bus/metro
tickets. This would be for 3 days.

thanks so much..

You can't buy metro/bus tickets in advance online, only in Paris from a ticket window or machine. You can only buy an overpriced "Paris Visite" transport pass online, including a markup and shipping charge. Just wait and buy at your first station on arrival. For 3 days, you'll need either 'carnets' (sets of 10 single tickets) or a Mobilis day-ticket. The carnets can be split up; the Mobilis is a single ticket good for all day.

The Rodin garden admission is only 1€ and no need to buy in advance, really. The entire museum+garden is only 7€, sure you don't want to see it all? It isn't large. You can preorder tickets on their site, via FNAC or Ticketnet.fr, and possibly print them yourself. The 'gardens only' ticket is not offered online.

Musee d'Orsay

NOTE: there is a combo ticket for d'Orsay/Rodin, if you visit them on the same day

I also love the Paris Map Guide by Middleditch. Easy to use. I also use the Lonely Planet laminated one, as I like it's Metro map.

My romantic husband is even looking at guidebooks and maps
He wants to make sure we are near Luxumburg for romantic picnic and there are a few bridges he wants to kiss on.
He has told traveling companions that we will only go to d'Orsay and St. Chappelle with them. otherwise we are on our own to stroll, eat, drink, and kiss ..

p.s.
im going to post this on my romantic Paris post too.

What happened to the apartment on rue St-Severin? The VIP apartment is in the same area. Near lots of attractions, though not quiet.

Have a great time in Paris.

Hi Jet -

Paris Vision has a fun night tour that begins with a visit to the Eiffel Tower, then a river cruise along the Seine, and ends with a bus tour to see all of the light. The Musee Rodin and Musee d'Orsay are wonderful, so I think you'll enjoy them both. My favorite meal was at Le Cigale Recamier (Metro stop: Sevres-Babylone), but please avoid Bouillon Racine like the plague because they seat all of the English speaking tourists together on the first floor and give much better service to the locals upstairs. While I was in Paris, I was told that the Sacre Coeur is a very unsafe area, so please be careful.
