Sari shopping in London
Hello all. I am headed back to Europe in just a few days. My first stop is London and it occurred to me that it would be a great place to shop for a sari and other Indian goodies. Any suggestions on where to start looking?

Many thanks! -- K
What a good idea: I hope I'm in time. My first thought is Brick Lane, just north of Aldgate East tube station. My second is Southall, in west London, reachable by frequent train from Paddington main line station. Both places are good for saris and for other south Adsian goods.

Welcome to multicultural London. Please write if I can help further

Ben Haines

Covent Gardens has antiques on Mondays, and I have seen many Indian artifacts there on that particular day. I don't remember saris in particular, but I was looking at old cigarette cards. I did not buy them and am very sorry. It will be a couple of years before I get back to London. If you see any, would you try to remember the dealer's name for me so that maybe I can contact him? I'm headed back to Paris and Rome this year, but I do love London.
