Sardinia Agriturismo, Wineries

Hello all...my husband and are will be in Sardinia for about two weeks in September. We are staying in three locations: Cala Gonone, an area near Alghero and Castelsardo. Can you recommend an agriturismo for a nice lunch or dinner and also some nice wineries to visit? Any areas inland that you would recommend we visit so we can experience rustic Sardinia would be welcome as well. Lastly, given the areas that we are staying in if there is a must do or see, please let me know.

Thanks very much.

Close to Alghero I suggest SA MANDRA, a very good restaurant.
Look at its website: www.aziendasamandra.it .

I am sure you will enjoy it.

Have a lovely trip, ciao.

Vincenzo

We did go to Sardinia in September of 2008...we loved every minute of our trip. We visited Cala Gonone, Alghero and Castelsardo. We saw goats and pigs, ate at some agriturismos, bought olive oil after following a wooden sign on the side of the road that simply read "Olio", went to the beautiful beaches, visited some of the villages where widows still gather every afternoon in the piazza wearing black..and we ate and ate and ate! It was a really wonderful trip. Thank you to everyone who shared their insights with us prior to our trip.

I have probably missed the boat on this one, we travelled around sardinia staying in lovely agriturismo. We found difficulty in booking beacuse of the language barrier in the end we found

http://www.go-sardinia.com/sardinia-agriturismo.htm

They have some nive agriturismo and took care of all the bookings for our planned itinerary

We didnt do this but they also have a wine tasting experience

If anyone is looking for great info on sardinia also try the local tourist website which was also a great help
