Santorini- Perivolas or Canaves Oia Suites
Hardly one of those awful problems!
I'm very fortunate to be spending 5 nights in Santorini with my adult daughter.
Both these hotels are similar in price and sound lovely. Canaves has larger rooms, the pool at Perivolas looks spectacular.
From the reading I've done, it appears the breakfasts at Perivolas may be better.
Is this just a matter of taste? Has anyone seen both hotels and might be able to give me an idea of the pros/cons of the two?
Thank so much!

I've seen both but can't comment on the breakfast. Room size varies depending on the one you're assigned. They're all different. Regardless of which hotel you choose you'll be in heaven. Yes, the Perivolas pool is spectacular. The pool's temperature depends on when you're there and how hot the sun is. Perivolas' location is more secluded but that also means it's a bit further out from Oia's main square, about 10 minutes' walk past Canaves Oia. I prefer the 'look' of the rooms at Perivolas.

I have seen both hotels and i like both.
Canaves is bigger and has more room types, some are newer some others older....
Personally i would slightly tend to stay at the Perivolas....even though it is a longer walk to the main attractions of Oia.

Thanks so much for your responses.
I'll be traveling early September so the pool water should be lovely and warm!
Canaves Oia Suites is a superior suite for 2 and Perivolas is a superior suite.
On a different note, I'm considering spending 3 nights in Mykonos on my own prior to Santorini.
My daughter and I arriving from different cities and she prefers not to be gone as long (we're moving on to other destinations from here). Is it worth the hassle to see "one more island"?
I realize there are many others that are less populated etc etc but this is one I'm curious about.

If you think you want to see another island and if you want a super-lively atmosphere then Mykonos is the one for you. If you want a more diverse, less-commercial experience consider Naxos or Paros. Personally, I'd rather spend more time in one place than spread myself too thin. For me it'sall about relaxing and spending quality time getting into the rhythm of an island. Santorini is fantastic for that.

I love Mykonos, it's one of the nicest Aegean islands....
It combines beauty with classy nightlife and top restaurants...
At the same time you can spend some very quiet days there, it is up to you.
The beaches of Mykonos are fantastic and you have also Delos that is a must see, in my opinion.
I would recommend Cavo Taggoo as one of the best hotels of the island ( and located near to the city of Mykonos)
