There are a number of wonderful places that are actually ON that train line (Trémolat being one of them), including Siorac, Le Buisson (from which you could easily ride to Limeuil), St-Cyprien, and Lalinde. St-Cyprien and Le Buisson have thriving markets (Sunday in St-Cyprien and Friday in Le Buisson, both madhouses in high season, though). From Lalinde it's easy to hop onto the canal bike route and head to points west.

Dire here, too, BC, but it's Sunday and a good day to stay home in front of the fire anyway.

We drove along the canal route near Lalinde, the cycle path looked very peaceful.
