Ryanair to Edinburgh

Ryanair has really good prices & I don't mind the battle for seats, but I've head they have a strict checked baggage weight limit...is that true? If so what's the limit for checked luggage? Traveling early May.

It's true. 15 kg limit and 5 GBP for each excess kg, I think.

Best wishes,

Rex
My mistake - - FOUR pounds sterling - - or 6 euros for each kg, in excess of 15.

Source: http://www.ryanair.com/conditions.html
I have a quick follow up question. I'm thinking of doing the Dublin to Edinburgh on Ryanair, how early do you need to get to the airport before your flight? Do you have to go through customs? Thanks.

Take note of the fact that if you are travelling on a domestic flight or between Britain and Ireland a valid photo I.D. is necessary for Ryanair. That is their rule and if you do not follow it do not expect them to allow you on board. They can then sell yout seat to somebody else. They always seem to think up wheezes like this so watch out and follow their instructions carefully if you expect a cheap ticket.Another thing they do is to sell your seat if you arrive late, even if the flight itself is late.

I have flown recently Dublin to Manchester on Ryanair. Check-in desk opens exactly two hours before departure and closes 30 minutes before. I left plenty of time to get to the airport from city centre (about 35 minutes by airport bus). I would aim to get there when the desk opens. You go through the international departure, but there is no passport check. You need a photo ID, and most UK people carry passports for this purpose. They also ask you for your booking reference at check-in (there is no paper ticket).

See announcement about Easyjet.com London to Paris for pennies this summer. Can Stansted-Paris be far behind? Will ryanair fly into Beauvais? or try to obtain landing rights at Orly or CDG?
