Ryanair abandons US flight plan

A few days ago Ryanair announced cheap flights to the US.
Today try they announced they have cancelled the plans.

Sorry folks but you will have to be content with the same old airlines (plus Norwegian) for your transatlantic flight.

I saw that on twitter earlier. I saw the 30 euro flights to fly international but am sure there were going to be 50 extra options to buy.

I remember the late great People Express, $99 New York to Brussels. I don't care if they charge extra for everything. I just don't buy the extras.

When was the late great People express to Brussels in operation? I remember hearing about it but I thought it was an urban legend.
