Running in Paris
I will be traveling to Paris at the beginning of May and would like to go jogging around the city. Is there any reason why this would be a bad idea? Are runners an uncommon site in Paris? Are the particular times of day or areas of the city when/where running would not be wise?

Sean

We were in Paris last year and my husband and teen age daughter ran in the parks. There were other runner as well. They ran late in the afternoon 5-7pm.
I would reccomend staying in park areas because the city can be very busy w/pedestrians,cars, taxis...
You may want to do a search on this subject, I've posted before.....where are you planning to run? I ran in the mornings around the Champ de Mars and there were many, many runners. Same for the Luxembourg Gardens (except I had to run around the gardens many many times to get enough mileage in). Various parks are also ideal. I have not jogged around the Citroen Park yet but I might, next month. I think early morning is best because there is not much traffic at all.

Sean, if you'd like to do a fun run with Parisians and expats living in Paris, contact the Paris branch of the Hash House Harriers. They do regular runs around different parts of the city and then socialize afterwards--you would really enjoy it (HHH call themselves "a drinking club with a running problem.")
