Rothenburg Germany Hotel Recommendation

We will be staying overnite in Rothenburg on our way to Vienna. Can anyone recommend an inexpensiveHotel or Bed and Breakfast? Or any other suggestions one hour drive from Frankfurt airport. Thank you in advance

I can recommend Hotel Hornburg in Rothenburg. In fact I just left a message here a couple of weeks ago talking about it. Look down the list of topics and you will find it. It contains email address and details. Royce

We stayed in the Hotel Goldene Rose. Came highly recommended in the Rick Steves 1997 Europe book. It has fax numbers, etc. The hotel also has a restaurant that was very good, and it was walking distance to everything. Hope you have better weather than we had...it rained every single minute that we were there which made walking tours difficult. Didn't hurt the shopping any, though. Have a good time.

Rothenburg is the best place at this part of the Romantic Road. We spent three days last Aug at the Goldener Hirsch. It was fantastic. The food was great and the view even better. Highly Recommended. Enjoy

I can recommend the Hotel Reichs Kuechenmeister where we spent a couple of nights last year. It is located on St Jacobs Square (near the church) inside the medieval wall and within walking distance to everything. Very easy to stroll to restaurants, shops, the Rathaus, the Marktplatz from here. We had a nice corner family room (2 room suite with large bath) and nice views. Buffet breakfast included.

Also recommend the Reichs Kuchenmeister. We use it on all trips to Rothenburg. While there, take the Night Watchmens tour. Leaves around 8pm in the main square. In English. Free, but tips accepted at end of the tour. Great way to get a feel for the city and fun. About one hour. The Reichs Kutch is close to everything, including the main square for the tour. Kathe Wolfahrts is a fun place to see and shop. Go to main building first. Very touristy, but prices are fair and we compared in other shops around Germany and they ship to US. Have a nice time.

We have stayed at Der Meistertrunk on 3 separate visits and have been very satified with the accommodations and the staff. The address is #9 Herrengassestr. which is on the main street but it was very quiet. Also the food was great and we plan to go back again.
