rooms in venice

My husband and I are going to Venice in early Sept. We would like some opinions on great places to stay. Thanks

Perhaps someone has a suggestion on a bed and breakfast or hotel close to Piazza San Marco. That area really is the center of the city and the heart of activity.

If you do a text search for "Venice Hotels," you will come up with a lot of good info.

Good luck.

Just returned from Rome, Florence, Venice trip. In Venice we stayed at a b&b Ca'della Corte. It was wonderful, although off the beaten path. Check their website

Antica Locanda Venezia Hotel - it's in San Marco. 5 Min walk to the piazza. Great roof top terrace for breakfast. Quaint little hotel with a B&B kind of feel. Very small bath - but all new and updated (very clean). It's on a small ally - in a charming area. We loved it...

Pricey, but ask for Room 70 at the Danielli...you won't regret waking up and throwing open your shutters to look out on the mouth of the Grand Canal across to San Giorgio Maggiore. Needless to say the furnishings, service and staff are incredible at this property. Location is close to San Marco.
