Rome Weather in late May?

I will be going to Rome for 10 days at the end of May. I'm not sure what clothes to pack since I don't know what the temperature will be like. Does anyone know what the weather will be like?
Thanks in advance.

I was there last year that time, and it wasn't that warm, and I needed my unbrella for 2 days. It varies, just as most other places in temperate zone. Check weather before you leave, and go from there.

Laura--
One can only project what is "average" or "typical" of weather in Rome. For your time of year, the high temperature in the day should be in the low to mid-70's; the low temperature should be in the mid 50's. That being said, you can expect swings of at least 10 degrees above and below those averages from time to time. If you go to www.cnn.com/WEATHER, you can find out what the current and near-term weather observations are for anywhere in the world. I suggest you begin checking about 30 days before departure and look for general trends and averages, then make your packing decisions based on how the trends are going. I was in Rome last year in the first week of June, and in a 4 day period we had no rain and highs in the mid-70's.

Laura,

We were in Rome the very end of last May and it was was quite warm...mid-80's and sunny. Although it cooled off at night for sleeping, it was uncomfortably warm walking around in the sun during the day. I ended up going back to the hotel one day to switch to something cooler. My advice, bring stuff that you can layer...maybe a shell/tank and then a sweater or long-sleeve top that can go over it.

Ditto with the warm! I wore blouses and knit tops during the day - quite warm. At night I put a very light jacket over a sleeveless top and was quite comfortable. Pack the sun screen!
