Rome trip

I am thinking of choosing Rome as my next travel location. I have been to London and Paris and really enjoyed the fact that you could get anywhere via the subway in those cities. Does Rome have a similar extensive subway system? thanks

Rome's subway system is very limited although plans for some additional lines were recently announced.

The bus system, however, is quite extensive. Just beware of pickpockets.

Hi

You'll find the "centro storico" is quite compact. The metro is not extensive as Jean pointed out but I found it adequate to get you around.

Hello yar, I have always found Rome an easy city to walk in and I usually stayed near the Via Veneto area. I have never taken the subway or a bus and only taxis a few times. But I don't have any health or walking problems.

I have been to Rome once and found all the attractions accessible by the rail system. There are two main lines and a day ticket is around 4 euro . Easy to use aswell. If visiting , checkout the new Roma pass , which covers 3 days on the metro and admission/discounted admission to attractions .
