Rome Travel Agency - please recommend

We are a group of 9 traveling by train twice during our upcoming trip to Rome and Florence. The Trenitalia website says there is a 20% discount for group travel but either you must purchase at the train station 14 days before travel (and we won't be there that early) or you must purchase through an Italian travel agency.

My questions is, has anyone dealt with a travel agency in Rome that you could recommend? I have perused the Italian yellow pages and found many, but I would prefer to go with a personal recommendation.

Thanks for your help!
Linda

Sorry, can't *really* help you. Just wanted to say that I've bought train tickets, though not for such a large group as yours, in Rome a couple of times. I just happened to be walking by one, close to Piazza Venezia, went in and bought our tickets.

Hopefully someone will recommend one more specifically. But if they don't, just to reassure you, it's not a particularly stressful chore. Or it wasn't for me--and I hope it isn't for you.

Best of luck.

Thank you for your kind reply. Was your purchase for a group rate?

Being the obsessive planner that I am, I was trying to set this up before we leave. But, from your response, I suppose we can purchase them when we get to Rome. Thanks for the reassurance!

Hi LC,

You don't need a recommendation.

All you are going to do is buy some tickets.

Any TA in Rome will be able to sell you the tickets, with the discount.

Ask your hotel for the closest travel agency that sells train tickets. There is no trick to purchasing train tickets, so any authorized agency will do.

Thank you! As usual, question answered, reassurances given!

I definitely owe this forum a trip report when we return.

Just one more word of encouragement: any agency that has the Trenitalia logo in their window sells train tickets. You won't have a problem at all.
