ROME STATION-PIAZZA NAVONA

You can walk from Stazione Termini to Piazza Navona in about 20-25 minutes - if you're not carrying luggage. I don't know the buses in Rome. The subway is okay and easy to use since there are only 2 lines, but there's no stop real close to P. Navona (especially if you're lugging). A taxi may be your best bet if there's more than 1 person or if you are carrying a lot.
(Rome is great. Enjoy.)

The bus system is very easy to use in Rome. Get tickets at Tabaccanists shops or use the same tickets as on the subway. All the stops on each bus route are listed at each stop, so if you know what street or piazza you want to go to, look for stops in that area. Checking a street map helps if you don't know the city very well. It took me a couple days of walking before I took any busses. With luggage, busses could be a problem, so a taxi might be easier. I didn't take any taxis, so I dont know what the fare might be. Once you are all set at your hotel, though, busses are the easiest way to get around in Rome. I'll be going there again this October, and am looking forward to it.

Buses are good transportation in Rome as long as you don't have luggage. Be very aware
of pickpockets and keep your purse and belongings close to your body.Whn you get on a bus, you must stamp your ticket in the yellow machine usually in the middle of the bus. Riding is on an honor basis, but if you haven't stamped your ticket and they check you could be fined considerably. Same is true for trains, except the machines are in the station usually near the departure areas. Rome is wonderful, but be careful and have fun.
