Rome Month April 2025

Looking for suggestions for the best neighborhood to stay in for a month in Rome. Will be there with family of 4.

Welcome, MPLux. Not knowing about you, I'd suggest that, if you are newbies to Rome, you look for places around the Pizza Cavour and/or Campo de Fiori. My late hub and I thought the first was a good place for transportation; the second for the market and walk to Navona.

Share about yourselves and your interests.

April next year means Easter, April 25th long weekend and the May 1st long weekend. Tack the Jubilee on top of that.

The main thing those dates mean is it'll be absolute high season in terms of pricing and availability.

A month? You're going to see what you can find. It wouldn't shock me if plenty wouldn't want to rent for the full month at a discount.

ps..Hub and I were in Italy twice during Easter; watch for holiday schedules with transportation, and buy train/bus tickets in advance of the holiday weekend.

Hello, we will be in Italy from April 22 through May 6. I thought Easter next year was on April 20? I made my trip plans so that I would miss Easter - what am I missing?

The Piazza Navona/Campo dei Fiori area is very central, lots of good bus connections (plus a taxi stand just outside the northern edge of Piazza Navona if you want that), lots of restaurants.

And yes, Easter is April 20.

Add Palm Sunday, Good Friday and Easter Monday.

You aren't really missing Easter. Easter Monday the day before you arrive is a major travel holiday. The problem is the 25th is only four days later. That means some people will be taking that whole period off. Even if they don't some will be traveling home on the 22nd.

Then of course the other side of the 25th is a long weekend. May 1st is a long weekend.

Your dates are basically the busiest possible time of the year. At least if you're thinking about Italians and other Europeans traveling Imagine if Memorial day and July 4th came in back to back weekends.
