Since Campo di Fiori is on your way why not stroll through it; it's a short and pleasant walk. I agree about seeking out Santa Maria Sopra Minerva; as you face the Pantheon, as I recall it's to your left and back a bit.

Thanks everyone! I'm going to print this out and bring it with me so I remember all your helpful suggestions while I'm away!

Hi all! I'm back and pleased to report that we did everything on our itinerary and more, EXCEPT we couldnt get in to the forum or palantine hill because they stopped allowing entry at 3:30 and we got there just after. We already had a ticket (Roma Pass, actually) because we'd been to the Colosseum that morning, but they still wouldn't let us enter. Pretty annoying, but we just walked along the outside and I think you could pretty much see everything anyway.

The first day we did everything listed plus stopped a few more places along the way. I tracked it and we walked over 8 miles the 1st day (including to and from our hotel), which is pretty ridiculous, but it rained the rest of the week, so I was happy that we'd managed to get so much done our our 1 nice day.

Sorry to disappoint you, Amicita, but you don't see much from outside as far as the Forum is concerned, and nothing at all of the Palatine. So you have a reason now to go back to Rome! That's not that bad either, is it?
