Rome Hotels

Any opinion on River Palace v. Regina Baglioni? We have a choice of the 2 for 3 nights in June. River Palace doesn't look specatacular, but I'm wondering in Regina Baglioni is really worth 2 1/2 times as much! (We will be in the middle of our honeymoon, 5 nights first in Florence and 5 nights after in Positano). Thanks.

Hi
congratulations on the marriage.

What leads you to narrow things down to those two hotels?

It's sort of a package--we set the number of nights in each city and the we move by rail between them. These are two of the hotels that the company (Tour Crafters) works with. Our TA was trying to give us one in the 4 star range and one in the 5 star range.

have you checked out www.tripadvisor.com to see if they are reviewed there?
Never heard of either of these.

The locations are both equal - close to Piazza del Popolo. That 2-1/2 fold increase in price, then, is purely for the "luxury". Personally, with only 3 nights in Rome I wouldn't be spending much time at the hotel (of course I'm not on my honeymoon).
