iI have narrowed choices to 1. albergo del sole 2.hotel panda 3.hotel smeraldo 4.hotel margutta Looking for price, location and quiet enough to sleep. (do i need a/c the first week in June? Thanks

Deborah, Have not stayed in any of these, though we have booked Hotel Smeraldo for March, it seems like a good budget choice. There are two Albergo del Soles - Albergo del Sole al Biscione is cheaper and Albergo del Sole al Pantheon is dearer. Kay

We stayed at the Smeraldo last summer. The price was reasonable and the location was terrific. We used air conditioning and kept the windows closed. Noise wasn't a problem.

My parents stayed at the Margutta a few years ago. Their comments were: Pretty good location, however the hotel left a lot to be desired. Try another one. I think you'll do better to stay away from the Margutta.

Chances are VERY good you'll need A/C the first week in June. A good friend of mine has stayed at the Panda and I walked past it while in Rome last week. It's in a good location, but I'm not sure it has A/C. Also, he said their room was very, very small. Buon Viaggio, BC
