Rome Fumicino and ITA

Hello all. Flying to Catania via Rome FCO on ITA after Alitalia closed up and wondering if anyone has had experience with ITA and also if it's relatively easy to get from one terminal to the other at FCO. I believe we come into either 3 or 1 and then have to go out of the other one. With connections, I'm always a bit anxious. I downloaded the ITA app and also wondering if I will be able to check in on the app. Will not be checking luggage s hope that saves time. We have almost three hours in between if all goes well. Any experiences with ITA to share would be great. Thank you.

Haven't tried ITA yet, but they fly in and out of Terminal 1, which is connected by foot to Terminal 3, which is the largest terminal and is partly served by train. You might experience a bit of walking, depending on gate(s). Our experience last fall was that, without baggage to collect, the arrival process was as quick as ever (no Covid test or vaccine checks and automated Passport control) and zero lines.

You don't say where you're coming from but three hours assuming no delays is a huge amount of time to get from T3 to T1. You're more likely to be bored wondering what to do.
