Could someone please help me navigate this site to book tickets for the Domus Romane di Palazzo Valentini please? Here is the site to purchase tickets:

If this is an exhibit that you walk through, why are there rows and seats - is that for a video?

It looks like there is only one English tour/video per day at 13:15?

As an example to be sure I am reading this correctly, if I would pick March 31/English, the booking page shows 3 grey x's, then a row of red squares, then more grey x's. Although I don't understand why there would be grey x's on either side of what I think are available seats (?), I think the red ones are available. Next I click on a red square and a smaller box appears: Intero Prevendita (7.50) and Ridotto Prevendita (5.50) - which do I choose? What do they mean?

I'm looking for dates in June - would you wait until they appear on this site or call? Has anyone ever called and gotten someone who speaks English?
If there is anything else that I am missing, I'd love to hear about it.

I think you've got it. Doesn't look like there is anything past March yet. Yes, there's only 1 English show per day. Don't worry about the seat assignments -- that doesn't matter. I think it's just letting you know how many tickets are left for that day.

Perhaps an Italian speaker can help on the translation -- I assumed that it was full price and concessions. However, since kids with US passports don't get the discounts (generally) I just bought 4 full price tickets (€30).

You could try the other extreme of paying for the cheaper one to hold the slot and pay the difference if necessary. The pickup procedure was very low key.

If it were me, I'd try back later to see when it opens up. It is still a good secret so you should be okay.

if you click on your own link, you should go ti the ticket-one website, and on the top right-hand corner, there's a button to select the language, including english.

after that, easy peasy.

it appears that you can't book yet beyond march 31st.

Ticketone's business is chiefly selling concert and theatre tickets, for which there are seats. For the Domus romane, there are no seats but only time slots.

Susan - I'll try to be good about writing my trip report. This trip started because of seeing a Groupon last weekend for a week long cooking school in a tiny hill town east of Rome. We weren't thinking about booking anything in June because we already have a big trip planned with the whole family the end of July and we NEVER take trips twice a year. We saw the Groupon and decided in 4 days! We usually think, research, plan and then think some more for months and months before booking anything, so it's pretty amazing we would do this at all this year, and especially so quickly. We were in Rome for a week (along with Switzerland and Tuscany) last summer and loved it so decided to add on 2 1/2 days in Rome before heading home. This trip will so different from a normal trip for us that I'll try to do the trip report right away once I get home. I might ever go back and write last Year's trip report!

One last thought, if it wasn't picked up from the TA thread - the RomaPass can now be used when visiting the Domus.

Entry is free if it's either of your 2 first sites, or €4 after that (€6 otherwise) - with the extra €1.50 per ticket being that website's booking fee.

Essentially, you phone to make the reservation, telling them you're using the Pass and show it on arrival - for more, see the entry here...

Or you could take a gamble, and simply turn up in the hope of a 'vacancy' on that or a subsequent day - buying tickets from the desk at the Palazzo, paying €6 --- or nothing or €4 with the RomaPass depending if a 1st.... blah blah.

But, if here in Italy between April 14 and April 22, remember that many places will be free during the Week of Culture.

Roma Pass won't be worthwhile for us on this trip - way too short to make good use of it, but I know it's great for longer stays while visiting the Colosseum, etc.

i had a look round the site [in italian as well as english] and there are lots of pretty pictures [which move around in a rather irritating way] but b...ger all info about when the tickets for the next month will become available.

I can only suggest that you haunt the site until June comes up. at least everyone is in the same boat!

I have been checking the site a lot recently also, as I need tickets for July. Two things I noticed: May only came up in the last week of April, and the prices increased 50% as of May 1. Previously, the price was 7.50 euro. As there are four of us (two kids) I am now deciding how badly I want to go.

Based on the above, I would check daily starting about May 24 or so.

I heard there is a church which is built upon several levels of ruins, each different as you descend. Is anyone familiar with this church? Would it be a similar experience? I just can't manage to find the info right now.
