Roller bags on historic steps, gladiators and ticket sellers are out. And, what? Locals can't hang out laundry to dry anymore. That one seems anti-Italian.

Yeah, that no hanging laundry is a total non-starter. I can't imagine locals complying with that. How could they?

Most of those aren't really new rules. They've just been changed from temporary rules that needed to be renewed every so often to permanent

In Italy for sure no and ecologically drying laundry strung between buildings is green. wonder if rain umbrella sellers are still allowed around town in drives when a bit of rain starts falling.

The law just says they can't dry laundry by stringing it between buildings. Since very few Italians have dryers, they have to hang it somewhere.

I haven't seen lines between buildings in A LONG time. Between buildings means across streets. You dry on your balcony.

I saw some in Rome just the other day; it was a narrow street. Not everyone has a balcony.
