Road Trip
I have planned a very agressive road trip for late March to early April when I will be moving back to the United States. I am considering taking a ferry from Spain over to Tangiers, Morocco and wonder if it is worth it. I know it doesn't cost much and I don't intend to take the car over with me, but I will have my 11 year old son with me and I am wondering if its safe? The trip we are planning will include the following cities/countries: Salzburg, Vienna, Venice, San Marino, Naples, Pompei, Milan, Nice, Andorra, Barcelona, Valencia, Malaga, Seville, Lisbon, Madrid and Zaragoza, and possibly Tangiers. I would appreciate any information on attractions in those areas, especially the more obscure places.

If you are not planning to explore Morocco beyond Tangier, I would not bother. If it were me, I would winnow down the list and plan a longer stay in Morocco. I don't see any terribly obscure places on the list..but wonder why San Marino is included..just curious.

you do say your itinerary is "agressive" - but that doesn't nearly describe it.
It feels like someone who is moving back home and just realized they'd missed 1/2 of Europe and now wants to see all of it in a couple of weeks.
I wouldn't do this (not even addressing the Morocco quetion) w/ a 11 year old. Just my opinion.

You don;t say exactly how long your trip is - late March to early April sounds like 10/12 days or so - which is obviously ridiculous. In fact IMHO - anything short of 6 weeks for this trip is ridiculous.
Have you laid this out by day and included mileage/driving times? Esp with an 11 year old - it might be considered child abuse - and certainly wouldn;t be enjoyable for anyone.

I have four weeks time for this and made a similar trip last summer, going through Northern Europe minus the 11 year old. My boyfriend did the majority of the driving at night and we slept a lot in the car (got rooms every other night or so) and we had a great time and covered a large area, which was the goal. I don't have any times or dates when I have to be anywhere so I assumed that I would see how my son felt and have down time whenever he needed it. They are tentative plans and can easily be modified to accomodate him.
San Marino, just because my son requested it.
